SPARCS applications are specific to one project, but applicants can have multiple research goals under a single unifying project. Applicants must provide a project summary that fully describes the research goals, methods, and impact. SPARCS research scientist will assess your study for feasibility with the SPARCS data and assist in narrowing your goals.
For identifiable applications, if the project's aim is dissimilar or requires different levels of sensitivity, the Data Governance Committee will meet to deliberate access levels. They will decide whether the project should remain approved or be separated under a new request.
If you are unsure how to approach your data request or wish to discuss your project directly with the SPARCS team before submitting, we host open Q&A hours every other week. At these Q&A sessions, our SPARCS team members will be available to answer any questions. Information on these Q&A sessions can be found at https://www.health.ny.gov/statistics/sparcs/access/
